Imagination out of the ordinary
I met this man as I was leaving downtown Indianapolis (Circle Monument) a day in late November. The first I saw was his fine set of flowers, it’s was only as I already had asked for a pic (with a friendly nod of head) as I also saw the lollipop. He stopped for a short while and I took three more pics.
Next up of my Street Photography friends is Daniel Eliasson, the man behind “Streetpeople.se”. We’ve done some collaborations, even if I consider him slightly more experienced as a photographer than I am. He’s a fun guy, the perfect company as you browse night life in a larger city…
Daniel and I wrote the original Street photography course at “Daily Bits of”, the version in Swedish. That was a great experience as we tried to pin down the pure basic elements of how to approach photography on the streets. Today there’s also an English version, that I wrote myself out of our mutual work.
Anyway, Daniel is a really good photographer, that’s already have had several workshops and exhibitions. Here are just a few examples of his storytelling.

In his own words: “I try to capture beautiful moments. Snapshots of life and social interactions between people. When I shoot street photos, I always look for the extraordinary. Something that sticks out from the regular. After 15 years, I still chase the perfect photo. I doubt it will ever come, but that’s what drives and motivates me; the hunt for the perfect street photography.”

Such a fantastic place, the Loop area in Chicago and its elevated trains. At it, under it, up towards it or down from the trains there are natural set “stages” all over. The lighting is magic and the people are intriguing.
The third of my friends in my street photography community (Gothenburg area) that I’ll like to introduce is Mats Johansson. As many of us, he’s got another job full time and take pics wherever he go (as he travels a lot). No matter whether you call Mats an amateur or not, he’s got that great eye for interesting pics.
I saw one of Mats exhibitions last spring, where he declared that anything urban interests him, sometimes it’s street art, sometimes street photography – quite often a combination of the two. In his own words:
– To look for and catch moments, views and interesting meetings in a urban environment is magic, especially with lots of people and movements in them. It’s the mix of documentary and art that fascinates me.

Daniel Castro is the second of Street Photography friends I thought I’ll introduce to you. He’s always looking for that documentary style, wherever he shoots – on the street or at concerts and events. Daniel’s always looking for a new angle and really like to shoot with a flash.
At the moment having an exhibition att “Crippas café” in Gothenburg, the pics there are half from the street, half from concerts – all of them telling a story, Daniel style.

In the Gothenburg area (Sweden) there are several really good street photographers, we kind of blend and mix in an unofficial photography network. I thought I’ll introduce some of them to you. First up is Agneta Dellefors Rydén.
Pic in top is called “selfie”
– It’s happening here and now. You don’t notice it, but there’s an non-staged play constantly going on, lacking both director and script.
It’s her own words, at a exhibition she’s currently having at Scandinavian Photo in Mölndal, just south of Gothenburg. If you’re close by, I strongly recommend you to go there. One reason is that almost all pics are better printed and hung on a white wall, but the main reason is of course that she’s a great photographer.
Her eyes spot both details and whole pictures, and her imaging is just as good. I believe she’s really good at the postproduction as the exhibited pics all are balanced, funny or intriguing – and sometimes all of that. She was kind enough to let me publish two of her pics from the exhibition. The one below is a real favorite…
